*The Revolutionary Swamiji - H.H. Swami Dayananda Saraswati.

Whenever I see these Sishyas of Swami Chidbhavananda, I feel I am a part of this group. I feel that I am with my own group of people here. I grew up at a time when there was a change in the society of Tamil Nadu. It was a social and political change.

We had a society before where the son of a குருக்கள் was a குருக்கள்; the son of a குடுகுடு பாண்டி was a குடுகுடு பாண்டி. Never in the society of any country this system you will find. But குடுகுடு பாண்டி doesn’t think he is a begger. It’s his profession. This was a society where competition was absolutely nill. When there is nil competition the sense of security is entirely different. Then the whole growth is inside. And now  that’s gone. The reality today is a grinning reality. You are living in a competitive  society. I joined the elementary school at the age of 5. Now what is the practice? 1-Am class 5 yearsல அதுக்கு முன்னாடி என்ன? Ukg; அதற்கு முன் LKG; then preKG. என்ன குழந்தை பிறந்தவுடனே பள்ளிக்கு அனுப்பிச்சுடுவாங்க போலிருக்கு! A child is supposed to be with the parents at least till 5 years. The child is not even 2kg. But the father sends it to KG! This is a funny society . And now the parents cannot afford not to do it. Why? Because they are afraid “my child may not do well later”. You know this is a competitive society. In this society we are going to feel more insecure, more unhappy, more restless, if we don’t  discover in ourselves some spiritual strength. And the strength comes only by connection. You have to connect yourself to the parents who are infallible – the infallible parents are only Parvathi and Parameswara.

And the connection was lost in Tamilnadu for nearly a couple of  generations. There was no connection until Swami Chidbhavananda came and realized the seriousness of the whole atmosphere: He knew that there would be opposition. One goodthing was he could identify with them and talk in Tamil. And at the same time he could quietly talk about Vedanta. I am sure in the beginning he had met with a lot of opposition from all these guys. But slowly they accepted him. His contribution is some thing that people who know the whole background of this TamilNadu will appreciate. They have to, they cannot but, appreciate. I think they do appreciate. And I will not be tired of telling the people what a great contribution it was! It was the greatest contribution any Swami made in the recent past to Tamilians.
